This Privacy Policy explains how BlueJay Technologies LLC ("BlueJay," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information through the BlueField application ("Service"). It applies to Company owners, managers, and employees who use the Service ("you").
BlueField is a business tool that a moving/field-service company ("Company") licenses to manage its own workforce. In most cases, the Company — not BlueJay — is the party that decides what employee information is collected and why. If you are an employee using BlueField because your employer requires it, your employer is responsible for the underlying employment decisions; BlueJay is responsible for how the Service itself handles the data.
Account information: name, email address, and role (owner, manager, or employee) within your Company.
Employment-related information entered by your Company: job title, crew assignment, schedule, time-clock entries, pay-period and payroll data, time-off requests, and similar workforce records.
Location information: BlueField requests location access solely to verify that a clock-in or clock-out is happening at or near the correct job site. Location is checked only at the moment of a clock-in/clock-out action — the Service does not continuously track your location in the background, and does not track your location outside of that specific action.
Photos: only if you choose to attach a screenshot to a support ticket. This is optional and initiated by you.
Messages: content you send through the Service's internal messaging feature, visible to intended recipients within your Company as described in the app.
Device and diagnostic information: app version, device model, and operating system version, collected automatically to help us diagnose problems (for example, when you submit a support ticket).
Biometric authentication — what we do NOT collect: if you enable "Quick Sign-In," BlueField uses your device's own Face ID/fingerprint system (through Apple's or Google's operating-system APIs) to unlock a securely stored sign-in credential on your device. BlueJay never receives, transmits, stores, or has any access to your fingerprint, face scan, or any other biometric identifier — that data never leaves your device and is managed entirely by your device's operating system, not by BlueField or BlueJay's servers.
We use the information above to: operate and provide the Service's features (scheduling, time tracking, messaging, payroll-period tracking, job management); verify clock-ins occur at the correct location; provide customer/technical support; maintain the security and integrity of the Service; and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to serve third-party advertising.
Within your Company: information is visible to other users in your Company according to their role — for example, managers and owners can see employee schedules and time records as needed to run the business; employees generally see only their own records, consistent with what's described in the app.
Service providers: we use Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Storage) to host and operate the Service's backend. These providers process data on our behalf under their own data-processing and security commitments and do not use your data for their own purposes.
Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BlueJay, our users, or others.
Business transfers: if BlueJay is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or a successor policy of at least equal protection.
We retain information for as long as your Company's account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations (including employment and tax recordkeeping norms), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Support tickets remain visible to your Company for one week after being marked resolved/closed/rejected, and are retained by BlueJay independently of that visibility window for support-history purposes.
You may ask us, by contacting caleb.bluejaytech@gmail.com, to provide the personal information we hold about you or to delete it, subject to our and your Company's legitimate business and legal-recordkeeping needs (for example, payroll records your Company may be legally required to retain). Because BlueField is provided to you through your employer's Company account, some requests — such as correcting your job title or pay rate — are more appropriately directed to your Company, since BlueJay does not independently control that underlying employment data.
You can decline to enable Quick Sign-In or location permissions; declining may limit certain convenience features (like faster sign-in or automatic clock-in location checks) but will not prevent you from using the Service's core functions.
BlueField is a workplace tool intended for use by working adults and is not directed to, or knowingly used to collect information from, anyone under 18.
We use industry-standard measures to protect information, including encryption in transit, Firebase's access-control rules to keep each Company's data isolated from every other Company's, and secure, OS-level credential storage for biometric quick sign-in. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Policy from time to time. A new version will be published with a new effective date, and where the Service's clickwrap flow requires re-acceptance, you will be asked to review and accept the updated Policy before continuing to use the Service.
Questions about this Policy, or requests regarding your information, can be sent to caleb.bluejaytech@gmail.com.
